(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) -- Yancy is redefining youthful worship with Rock-N-Happy Heart, which was released in stores nationwide on March 2nd via Pure Blue Records and Word Distribution, a Warner/Curb company. Geared toward pre-teens but effective for kids of all ages, the worship disc is designed for those that want to rock but love to worship.
After Yancy sold 5,000 copies of the CD independently, Pure Blue Records decided to pick up the project and expand it to include a 128-page, 12-week devotional book that matches each song to a different chapter, providing the perfect tool for developing the habit of embracing a daily devotional time.
"I love getting to be a small part in people's journey towards Christ," says Yancy. "After such positive feedback from pre-teens and families on how the music of Rock-N-Happy Heart had impacted them it seemed the natural next step was a devotional. The devo is a chance to open up the message of the songs, dig in and give my listeners some practical things they can do to grow in their faith."
A seasoned artist, worship leader and songwriter, Yancy has spent much of the last decade recording and touring, sharing the stage with the music industry's brightest stars, including Nichole Nordeman, MuteMath, Newsboys and others. She co-wrote "Something Beautiful" for Jaci Velasquez and Avalon's #1 hit, "I Don't Want to Go," and she's written two devotional books for worship leaders and musicians. Prior to moving to Nashville, Yancy also spent five years as a worship leader at Church on the Move, a megachurch in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Yancy maintains a full-time tour schedule including conferences and conventions throughout the USA. She also performs alongside her father Jim Wideman at Kings & Princesses events nationwide. These unique events are created for Dad's and their elementary age daughters, creating a fairy tale night that will strengthen father and daughter relationships.
In October, Pure Blue Records released Yancy's first Christmas collection Have a Fancy Yancy Christmas. Pure Blue Records is a division of Franklin, Tennessee-based Michael Smith & Associates, which oversees the careers of Yancy, Jaci Velasquez, Salvador, Go Fish, Brad Stine and more.
